I’m Katie Fingland, a certified K–12 art teacher and lifelong believer in the power of creativity and connection. Since 2005, I’ve had the joy of teaching art to students of all ages, and have spent the past 20 years teaching K-8 art in Colorado. In 2008, I began leading after-school art clubs and camps for kids in Colorado, where I’ve loved watching students explore, experiment, and grow as artists in a enriching and supportive environment.
Creating a welcoming and fun space for kids to explore, play with materials, and express themselves has always been at the heart of my teaching. I’m passionate about showing students how art can build meaningful connections within their community, and I carry that same philosophy into my custom and commissioned artwork—capturing the beauty and meaning in life’s little, yet powerful, moments.
Originally from St. Louis, I moved to Colorado with my husband in 2006. We now have two wonderful kids who remind me every day that it’s the little things and everyday moments that matter most.
Through both teaching and creating, my goal is to inspire others to slow down, notice the details, and find joy in the process of making art.
